Adverse Weather Advisory: Flooding on Highway 328 in Biggers Reno Impacting the Maynard Schools Bus Route in this area.
Biggers Reno, AR: Due to flooding conditions along Highway 328 in Biggers Reno, Maynard Schools’ bus route will be adjusted to ensure the safe transportation of students. The flooding has made sections of Highway 328 impassable, requiring an alternate route through Pocahontas to complete student pickups.
This adjustment may result in a delay of approximately 15 to 20 minutes in the usual morning bus schedule. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we navigate these conditions safely. Student safety remains our top priority.
Please allow extra time for travel in the affected areas and exercise caution when on the road. We will continue to monitor conditions and provide updates as needed.
Stay safe, and thank you for your cooperation.
Dr. Amy Jackson
Superintendent, Maynard Schools
Inclement Weather Announcement: Potential Transportation Adjustments for Maynard Schools
Date: November 5, 2024
Maynard Schools would like to inform families of potential transportation adjustments due to projected flooding along the Current River. The river is expected to crest at 28 feet on Thursday, November 7, 2024, which could impact roads, particularly along Highway 328, east of Reyno.
Potential Impact on Bus Routes
To ensure the safety of our students, we may need to alter pick-up and drop-off times on affected routes if flooding occurs. This could lead to delays on specific routes, particularly those in low-lying areas. Alternate routes may be necessary if flooding limits road accessibility.
Key Points for Families:
Affected Routes: Highway 328 and any areas east of Reyno.
Possible Delays: Pick-up and drop-off times may vary depending on weather and road conditions.
Notification of Changes: Maynard Schools will promptly notify families via our usual communication channels if alternate routes are implemented.
We encourage families to monitor weather conditions and stay connected with school updates. Your patience and understanding are appreciated as we work to safely transport students during this period of inclement weather.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we prioritize the safety of our students and staff.
Dr. Amy Jackson, Superintendent
